Flamingo Cantina

The Flamingo Cantina has been hosting live reggae, ska, Rocksteady, Latin (cumbia, y mas!) hip-hop, world, r&b and other genres of music for over 33 years. Located in the Red River Cultural District, this intimate venue has a dance floor, outdoor balcony, bleacher seating downstairs and tables and chairs on the outside upper deck. Great sight lines from most indoor areas. Our stage sound is one of the best in town. Typically there will be one or more bands per night, or at times there will be a dj lineup. Every Wednesday we host an event called "Dreadneck Wednesday" featuring the Mau Mau Chaplains, Austin's Godfathers of Reggae. This residency has been ongoing for 17 years! Some patrons refer to it as "Reggae Church". Plus, Winston's Kitchen caters Jamaican fare every Wednesday. Thursdays are hosted by dj Shaggy Fowl and feature a DJ lineup of Jamaican DJs including Mista B and DJ Supa. Delicious Jamaican food catered by Shaggy Fowl. Weekends feature various bands.
