HistoryWe started as Hitchcock Baptist Chapel in 1968 and then in 1984 we got property on 2nd Street and the name was changed to Second Street Baptist Church. As of December 2, 2018, the Church voted unanimously to call Pastor William as its new pastor and to begin the process of rebuilding this Church. We voted in November 2019 to change the name to Starting Point Baptist ChurchSpecialtiesStarting Point / Second Street Baptist Church is a place where every man, woman, and child can come and enjoy being together with other non-perfect people and worship an almighty God in unity. It is a place where our hurts and our joys can be shared without worry that someone is going to condemn us for being open about our good and our bad days.
