Houston Police Department-Southeast

Founded in 1943, the South Houston Police Department is a full-service law enforcement agency that strives to maintain a peaceful and safe environment. Located in South Houston, Texas, it employs more than 30 full-time officers, including detectives, sergeants and dispatchers. The department has a patrol division that prevents criminal activities and monitors traffic rules. The South Houston Police Department also operates a detective division that answers emergency and nonemergency calls. It investigates missing persons and provides sex offender registration services. The department also maintains a Citizens Police Academy that provides the working knowledge of the police department to residents. The South Houston Police Department supports the Crime Stoppers program and helps to prevent the usage of illegal drugs and gang activities.
