Matador Cattle Company

Established in 1952, Matador Cattle Company operates ranches in Texas, Montana and Kansas covering about 440,000 acres. It is a wholly owned subsidiary of Koch Industries Inc., which is one of the largest private companies in the United States with more than 70,000 employees. Matador Cattle Company owns and operates Matador Ranch, a 130,000-acre working cattle ranch that covers parts of Motley, Floyd, Cottle, Crosby and Dickens counties. Matador Ranch supports more than 3,000 head of cattle, as well as Quarter horses and diverse wildlife. The ranch supports the Motley County Chamber of Commerce, the Motley County Livestock Show Association, and the Motley County Volunteer Fire Department. It is a member of the American Quarter Horse Association, Ranch Horse Association of America and Ranch Cutting Horse Association.
