Restaurant Claudine, Carpenter Carpenter’s third establishment, resides in a remodeled home in the up-and-coming Government Hill neighborhood. The space offers snug tables surrounded by elegant hand-painted wallpaper, vintage chandeliers, and sentimental pictures of our namesake, Houston Carpenter’s grandmother, Claudine. Cassie Ramsay, chef de cuisine, hails from Mixtli and has a decade of experience creating magic in the kitchen. Inspired by grandma’s southern-comfort style cuisine with an elevated French influence, menu items include: fried chicken with fermented hot honey and pommes puree, as well as escargot and blue crab beignets. On weekends we offer an exclusive brunch in addition to a tea service from 2pm-4pm that includes all the signature favorites.
