More than 25 years ago, Tomatillos first opened its doors on downtown San Antonio’s main thoroughfare of Broadway. The neighborhood was an eclectic blend of historical landmarks, modern structures, blinking neon signs, colorful murals, and a variety of ethnic fare. Tomatillos was far from the only Mexican restaurant in San Antonio, but it captured the festive spirit of the city’s culture and drew locals from all areas of town.
