Founded in 1950, Orthopaedic Associates provides a range of pediatric, adolescent and adult orthopaedic treatment and surgery solutions. It is one of the oldest ongoing orthopaedic groups in Houston. The center operates several facilities in Houston, Bellaire, Kingwood and Katy in Texas. Orthopaedic Associates assists with the reconstruction of musculoskeletal deformities. It offers replacement solutions for hips, knees, shoulders and elbows. In addition, the center treats various sports injuries, such as fractures and broken bones. Orthopaedic Associates provides medication administration services for spine disorders related to cervical and lumbar. It performs arthritis and arthroscopic surgeries. The center also responds to after-hour emergencies.

Grant H. Chen, MD, MBA, FASA, is a board-certified and fellowship-trained pain management specialist and anesthesiologist who helps patients experiencing acute or chronic pain. He specializes in treating a wide variety of conditions, such as cancer pain, arthritic pain, sciatica, disc problems, general neck and back pain, joint pain, abdominal pain, headaches, and more. Chen listens to patients’ concerns and creates customized treatment plans based on their needs. His patients compliment his expertise and attentiveness. He utilizes a wide variety of interventions to help control pain. When not seeing patients, Chen is teaching the next generation of doctors. He’s an associate professor of anesthesiology and chief of chronic pain services at McGovern Medical School at UTHealth Houston. Chen completed his medical residency at Barnes-Jewish Hospital, Washington University in St. Louis. He completed fellowship training at New York-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical Center, Hospital for Special Surgery, and Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. He was a faculty member at the Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer for several years before coming to Houston. He has authored several journal articles and textbooks as part of his commitment to excellence and providing quality care. He’s a member of the World Academy of Pain Medicine, the American Society of Anesthesiologists, the American Society of Regional Anesthesia and Pain Medicine, the Eastern Pain Association, and the American Academy of Pain Medicine. Chen is a Fellow of the American Society of Anesthesiologists (FASA).
