HistoryFor Love & Art started as a project in a leadership course by Mark Lombard, who blended his passion for art with his service to community as a hospice volunteer. Mark was impressed by how his patient, Miss Billie, reacted to souvenir postcards from local museums; in the moment, she was young again, beautiful, and vital again, free from her everyday worries and fears. Mark dubbed this phenomenon

The Art Station is a nonprofit organization that offers individual and group art therapies and community programs to children and adults. It provides therapeutic services for peer and family conflict, divorce, low self-esteem, personal relationship, parenting and depression issues. The organization employs art therapists who serve various mental health, rehabilitation, medical and forensic institutions. It specializes in the treatment of communicative disorders, chronic illnesses and developmental delays. The Art Station organizes several workshops that focus on personal exploration and growth. It works in partnership with various local organizations, including the Garden Terrace Alzheimer s Center, Life Point, T.A. Sims Elementary School and Cancer Care Services. The organization additionally provides online information related to art therapy. The Art Station maintains a location in Fort Worth, Texas.
