The Shirlington Employment and Education Center (SEEC) was established in 2000 to assist day laborers in finding employment, starting with a small office in Arlington's Shirlington community. In March 2020, SEEC relocated to the Arlington Mill Community Center, where it continues to serve the community with no charge to employers beyond the hourly rate paid to workers.
SEEC relies on voluntary donations and community support to sustain its operations and recently celebrated 23 years of service to Arlington's immigrant community. The organization has been recognized for its dedication, evidenced by Andres Tobar receiving the 2023 Spirit of Community Award.
