Vishal S Dasari, MD

Erika Pashai, M.D., is an internal medicine physician with Johns Hopkins Community Physicians. Dr. Pashai’s areas of clinical interest and expertise include preventative medicine, health equity, behavioral health and mental health care. Prior to joining Johns Hopkins Community Physicians, Dr. Pashai was at the George Washington University Internal Medicine Residency Program. Dr. Pashai was born and raised in the Northern Virginia area, and she has actively engaged in various volunteer activities, empowering and guiding young minds toward their pre-medical goals. She has showcased her dedication to research, with several of her abstracts being published in peer-reviewed journals, focusing on crucial topics in gastroenterology and vaccination acceptance among IBD patients. Her career goal is to decrease barriers to access to health care in vulnerable populations and empower future generations of medical professionals. Outside of work, Dr. Pashai enjoys riding horses, dancing, traveling and reading.

Dr. Michail Mavros, a surgical oncologist specializing in complex cancers, is deeply committed to offering his patients personalized, advanced care. Originally from Athens, Greece, Dr. Mavros's passion for oncology was sparked during medical school after losing a close friend to cancer. This life-changing event inspired him to dedicate his career to improving the lives of cancer patients. Dr. Mavros is one of few surgeons with accredited subspecialty training in both complex surgical oncology and hepato-pancreato-biliary (HPB) surgery, making him highly qualified to treat cancers of the liver, pancreas, and bile ducts. He is also skilled in minimally invasive techniques, including laparoscopic and robotic-assisted surgery, which offer benefits such as faster recovery, reduced pain, and improved outcomes. At the heart of Dr. Mavros' approach is his belief in individualized care. He works closely with a multidisciplinary team of experts, including medical oncologists, radiation oncologists, and pathologists, to ensure each patient receives a thorough evaluation. This collaborative approach results in comprehensive, personalized treatment plans. By leveraging the latest advances in precision medicine, Dr. Mavros tailors his treatments to meet the unique needs of each patient, guided by the most current scientific research and evidence-based practices.

Sonja Britt Borgstrom, M.D., is a family medicine physician with Johns Hopkins Community Physicians. Dr. Borgstrom’s areas of clinical interest and expertise include preventative medicine, lifestyle medicine and plant-based diets, telemedicine and women’s health. Prior to joining Johns Hopkins Community Physicians, Dr. Borgstrom was an assistant professor in family medicine in Portland, Oregon from 2014 through 2018, and practiced as an urgent care physician in the DC metropolitan area from 2019 through 2024. As a primary care physician, she prioritizes making patients feel welcome, safe, listened to and respected while thoughtfully applying her education and experience to identify and address preventative needs or acute medical problems. Dr. Borgstrom was raised in Northern Virginia. Outside of work, she enjoys reading, running, animal rescue and travel.
