Regular operations include maintaining the wastewater treatment plant, maintaining sewers and water lines ; striping, sweeping and maintaining streets for all weather conditions ; maintaining street and traffic signs ; and weed removal. Major public works projects of late include the upgrade of the sewer treatment plant, completion of a 6-million gallon water reservoir ; shared responsibilities for the 88th Street-Interstate 5 interchange ; and paving and widening of key streets in Marysville. The division is also responsible for the maintenance crosswalks, sidewalks and wheelchair ramps assuring the safety of the pedestrian public. Programs include: sweeping, shoulder maintenance ( ditching, mowing, herbicide ), snow and ice removal, paving, pothole patching, striping, stop bars, and crosswalks.Solid Waste - The Solid Waste Division is responsible for the solid waste collection and disposal as well as the recycling program in the city.
