Regular operations include maintaining the wastewater treatment plant, maintaining sewers and water lines ; striping, sweeping and maintaining streets for all weather conditions ; maintaining street and traffic signs ; and weed removal. Major public works projects of late include the upgrade of the sewer treatment plant, completion of a 6-million gallon water reservoir ; shared responsibilities for the 88th Street-Interstate 5 interchange ; and paving and widening of key streets in Marysville. Maintaining a healthy infrastructure is necessary for enhancing our quality of life, and sustaining our community for years to come.Streets - The Street Division is responsible for maintaining all roads throughout the city to a safe, reliable and efficient condition. The division is also responsible for the maintenance crosswalks, sidewalks and wheelchair ramps assuring the safety of the pedestrian public. Programs include: sweeping, shoulder maintenance ( ditching, mowing, herbicide ), snow and ice removal, paving, pothole patching, striping, stop bars, and crosswalks.Solid Waste - The Solid Waste Division is responsible for the solid waste collection and disposal as well as the recycling program in the city.
