Founded in 1970, Consumer Counseling Northwest, also known as CCNW, is a nonprofit agency that offers confidential, professional financial counseling and consumer education services. It works as a referral partner for various financial and credit institutions, as well as nonprofit organizations. The agency employs various educators and counselors who offer home equity conversion mortgage counseling and debt management services. In addition, Consumer Counseling Northwest provides information, counseling and educational services through Internet and telephone. The agency is accredited by the Council on Accreditation of Children and Family Services and is a member of the National Foundation for Credit Counseling in the United States. With one of its locations in University Place, Wash., Consumer Counseling Northwest also maintains offices in Kirkland, Longview and Olympia, Wash.
