North Cascades National Park adorns jagged peaks, deep valleys, cascading waterfalls and over 300 glaciers. It acts as a habitat for neo-tropical bird species and offers a range of outdoor activities, scenic vistas and educational opportunities. The park s activities include camping, hiking, rock climbing, guided tours, boating and fishing, horseback riding, and bird and wildlife viewing. North Cascades National Park also publishes a newspaper, Focus on Stehekin, and offers a computer-based activities program, Newspapers in Education. It provides opportunities for scientific research on a range of topics. North Cascades National Park is located in Marblemount, Wash., and is a part of National Park Service, which is a network of more than 400 natural, cultural and recreational sites throughout the United States. It is a bureau within the Department of the Interior.
