Family & Children's Center is a regional, private, nonprofit agency that helps children and adults overcome social, emotional and mental challenges. It offers a continuum of services, including individual and group counseling, in-home guidance, residential care center, youth homes, senior housing and alternative education programs for youth with behavioral problems. It also provides treatment foster care, day treatment, and domestic and child abuse prevention programs. The agency s services are funded by a combination of grants and gifts and are accredited by the Council on Accreditation for Children and Family Services. It employs more than 200 people that include registered nurses, therapists, child psychiatrists and psychologists. Established in 1881 and located in La Crosse, Wis., Family & Children's Center also has facilities in surrounding counties.
