Foremost Farms USA is a dairy cooperative that is owned by more than 3,700 dairy farmer members in Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Michigan, Minnesota, Ohio and Wisconsin. In 2003, the cooperative supplied nearly 5 billion pounds of milk. It is one of the top 10 milk-producing dairy cooperatives in the Unites States, with sales that reached more than $1.2 billion in 2003. An employer of nearly 1,500, Foremost Farms USA maintains more than 20 locations throughout the Upper Midwest that processes and markets a full line of dairy products and ingredients for the wholesale and retail marketplaces. Products include packaged fluid milk, juices, cheese, sour cream, butter and multiple value-added whey ingredients. Foremost Farms USA maintains a location in Marshfield, Wis.

It also markets dairy-based food products for consumers, foodservice professionals and food manufacturers. Based in Spencer, Wis., it offers a wide range of products, including spreads and margarines, seasoning, cocoa and cappuccino, sour cream, milk, as well as cheese, among others. Land O'Lakes Inc. provides numerous brands including Alpine Lace Cheese, Fresh Buttery Taste Spread and Hilldale, among others.
