Stephen Foster Elementary Charter

Foster Elementary School offers educational programs to children from grades kindergarten through sixth, and is governed by the Appleton Area School District. The school follows the Student Achievement Guarantee in Education program that advocates for a class size of up to 15 for grades K-3 and up to 25 for grades four through six. The kindergarten program focuses on thematic units that integrate curriculum areas, such as reading, math, social studies, science, art and music. The school serves free meals to families receiving food stamps or aid to families with dependent children. Foster Elementary School offers a variety of cocurricular activities, including choir, band, strings, civil war re-enactment, plantation project, prime time reading night, book buddies, reading recovery, and kids recognition program. It also provides after school Spanish club, intramural sports, reading volunteers, reading incentive programs, writing connection parent night, Earth day recycled reading, safe night, and family fun night. Foster Elementary School is located in Appleton, Wis.
