Eduardo Icaza, M.D., is a comprehensive and interventional pain management physician at Baptist Health Miami Neuroscience Institute. Dr. Icaza is double board-certified in anesthesiology and pain management. He specializes in diagnosing and treating various acute and chronic pain conditions including spinal, neuropathic and postsurgical pain. He is fluent in English and Spanish. Prior to joining Miami Neuroscience Institute in 2022, Dr. Icaza served as an interventional pain physician at Mendelson Kornblum Orthopedics, Spine and Pain Specialists for four years. He also consulted for several Detroit-area hospitals. He earned the Robert Sweet Excellence in Anesthesiology award at the University of Michigan Medical School. He’s published research in Anesthesiology and Anesthesia and Analgesia as well as presented at national conferences. Dr. Icaza’s approach to patient care is based on treating each patient like a family member. He seeks to listen and understand the source of the pain before discussing and recommending the best treatment plan. When he is not treating patients, Dr. Icaza enjoys spending time with family, running, cycling, reading and following University of Michigan sports.

Dr. Tolchin is Board-certified in physical medicine and rehabilitation, with a subspecialty in spinal cord injury medicine and pain medicine. He is also a Fellow of the American Board of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. Dr. Tolchin has been part of clinical trials on prosthetics and the treatment of combat-related brain injuries. His research has been published extensively in medical journals and he has presented findings at numerous national physician education meetings.
