Ivan Rafael Matos Diaz, MD

Juan Viles-Gonzalez, M.D., FACC, FAHA, FEHRA, FHRS, is a cardiologist who specializes in the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of cardiac arrhythmias. He has distinctive training and expertise in cardiac electrophysiology, making him uniquely qualified to assess the heart's electrical system and activity and diagnose and treat abnormal heartbeats, or arrhythmias. Dr. Viles-Gonzalez conducts clinical research in his specialty to increase the efficacy of treatments and improve patient outcomes. He is widely published in peer-reviewed scientific journals and textbooks and is an invited speaker at national and international cardiology conferences. He serves on the editorial boards of the Journal of the American College of Cardiology and Heart Rhythm Journal and as a reviewer for several other medical publications. Dr. Viles-Gonzalez has extensive teaching and mentoring experience and has been honored with several teaching awards. He is fluent in English and Spanish.

Eduardo Icaza, M.D., is a comprehensive and interventional pain management physician at Baptist Health Miami Neuroscience Institute. Dr. Icaza is double board-certified in anesthesiology and pain management. He specializes in diagnosing and treating various acute and chronic pain conditions including spinal, neuropathic and postsurgical pain. He is fluent in English and Spanish. Prior to joining Miami Neuroscience Institute in 2022, Dr. Icaza served as an interventional pain physician at Mendelson Kornblum Orthopedics, Spine and Pain Specialists for four years. He also consulted for several Detroit-area hospitals. He earned the Robert Sweet Excellence in Anesthesiology award at the University of Michigan Medical School. He’s published research in Anesthesiology and Anesthesia and Analgesia as well as presented at national conferences. Dr. Icaza’s approach to patient care is based on treating each patient like a family member. He seeks to listen and understand the source of the pain before discussing and recommending the best treatment plan. When he is not treating patients, Dr. Icaza enjoys spending time with family, running, cycling, reading and following University of Michigan sports.

Natalia Miranda-Cantellops, M.D., is a board-certified physical medicine and rehabilitation physician with Baptist Health Miami Neuroscience Institute. She is fluent in English and Spanish. Prior to joining Baptist Health, Dr. Miranda completed a fellowship in brain injury medicine at Emory University/Shepherd Center. Dr. Miranda earned her medical degree from Ponce Health Sciences University School of Medicine. Following a transitional year residency at San Lucas Episcopal Medical Center, she completed a physical medicine and rehabilitation residency at University of Miami/Jackson Memorial Hospital, where she earned the Resident of the Year award. In addition to her clinical training, Dr. Miranda has been published in scientific journals including Journal of Spinal Cord Medicine and Pain Physician. She has also presented at numerous national and international conferences. As a certified physical medicine and rehabilitation physician, Dr. Miranda is committed to providing comprehensive care focused on maximizing her patients’ functional abilities, improving their quality of life and promoting their overall well-being. In her free time, Dr. Miranda finds time to bake, travel, sample different restaurants and cuisines, exercise and watch sports.
