Howard Kornfeld, MD, FAAP, is Chairman of the Overlook Medical Center Pediatric Quality and Patient Safety Committee. Dr. Kornfeld has been a member of the Summit Speech School Board of Directors.Dr. Kornfeld is a recipient of the Atlantic Health / Overlook Medical Center Physician Excellence Award for Pediatrics. He has been featured in the New Jersey Family "New Jersey's Favorite Kids' Docs" listings. During his residency, Dr. Kornfeld earned the Arthur Ackerman, MD, Award for the resident most likely to succeed in primary care practice and the Overlook Medical Center Gloria O. Schrager, MD, Award for excellence in teaching.

Zona Batacchi, MD is a member of Summit Health's Endocrinology team. Dr. Batacchi practices general endocrinology, with a special interest in thyroid, diabetes, adrenal, pituitary and parathyroid disorders, osteoporosis and polycystic ovarian syndrome. She is trained to perform fine needle aspiration biopsy of thyroid nodules, and is certified in bone density interpretation. Dr. Batacchi keeps open communication with each of her patients and takes ample time to educate them about their conditions, answer questions and discuss various treatment options. "My patients should feel knowledgeable and empowered to make the best decisions about their health." Dr. Batacchi keeps each patient's health goals and wellness in mind when caring for them in the interest of creating personalized treatment plans. With endocrine conditions often being chronic, Dr. Batacchi feels privileged to be able to care for and foster long-term relationships with her patients and takes pride in supporting them throughout their entire health journey.Dr. Batacchi is an accomplished researcher in her field. She has participated in continuous glucose monitoring research to assess blood glucose levels in individuals with diabetes and varying degrees of kidney function. She has also participated in a physiological study evaluating the effects of vitamin D on an individual's metabolism. Additionally, Dr. Batacchi is author or co-author of abstracts and has published articles in scientific journals.Dr. Batacchi is a recipient of a 2016 Endocrine Society Outstanding Abstract Award. She is a member the American Association of Clinical Endocrinologists, the American Diabetes Association, the Endocrine Society, and the International Society of Clinical Densitometrists.When not caring for patients, Dr. Batacchi enjoys cooking, reading, traveling, spending time with her husband and two children, and connecting with family and friends.

Matthew Wasser, MD is a member of Summit Health's Behavioral Health and Cognitive Therapy Center team. Dr. Wasser is trained to treat children and adolescent mental health conditions such as anxiety, attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), depression, obsessive compulsive disorder, and trauma reactions.Helping others in need has always been a passion of his. He says, Ive always been very community driven. I was a camp counselor for many years during my youth, and I still love to work with families and collaborate with teachers and other community leaders who share my passion.Dr. Wasser is passionate about suicide prevention and is a strong believer in mental health parity, a concept that would ensure that coverage for mental health conditions be equal to coverage for general medical and surgical care.Outside of work, Dr. Wasser enjoys watching sports, the thrilling experience of roller coaster riding, studying history, traveling, reading, and spending time with his family, friends, and dog.
